Scuba Diving
Zanzibar's Aquatic Realm
To the East of the African continent, less than 6 degrees from the equator, you will find Zanzibar's diving amongst the most spectacular in the world. This wonderful and diverse aquatic life of Zanzibar's coast boasts an impressive number of fish species. Our list of weird and wonderful sightings includes weedy scorpionfish, Mauritius scorpionfish, seahorses, leaffish, pipefish, and a variety of shrimps and nudibranches just to name a few. We have frequent sightings of turtles and dolphins and occasionally during their migration, humpback whales.
Our focus is on quality over quantity, and we like our divers to experience the best from Zanzibar's underwater world. To do this we like to separate out into small groups with divers of similar experience levels, allowing you to take your time looking at the diversity of life. Our dive guides are very experienced and have a deep passion for the environment and conservation. We have all been working together as a team for many years, which gives you the advantage of not diving with transient or inexperienced guides.
Our dive bases are located within easy reach of over twenty dive sites. We are able to offer shore dives from both our dive bases for those who prefer not to dive from a boat. We are located on the north west of the island and can easily visit the famous Mnemba Island Marine Conservation area so you can also avoid long bumpy road journeys. As we are not restricted by tidal water movement, Kendwa is the perfect location for night diving, either from the shore or by boat. We also make special offers and customised schedules for dive groups!
